Waypoints & guidance notes 2021

Herefordshire on the Edge 2021 - Waypoints and Guidance Notes updated June 19th 2021

New Waypoint schedule “Updated Waypoint Schedule………….no need to panic, there are no material changes, the waypoint data is just laid out in an improved way, which should make it easier for O.S and Satnav users. They now include a “Deg/min/sec” column (useful to Garmin users)”

Status Update

COVID protocols

We cannot organise a gathering of more than 30 people in the same place at the same time. This will not be a problem on the ride or at either finish………..but it could possibly be a problem at the Ross start, so this is how we will manage the issue:-

If there are more than 30 people in the car park, we will ask new arrivals to go to the services for 15 – 30 minutes. They are just 400 yards down the A40. Please do as the marshals request, without argument or debate.

To compensate for lost time, we will keep the finish control open for 30 minutes longer, so it will now close at 7:00 p.m.

You can play your part by moving off from the start as soon as you can.

There is no problem at the Leintwardine start.

SATNAV NAVIGATION

Certain route planning apps seem unaware of some of Herefordshire’s smaller roads and can make arbitrary decisions about waypoint locations. They are also averse to some water splashes and will re-route without telling you!

For certain, waypoints 6 and 9 were badly affected on the programme I used, but there may be more. So, if you are plotting your route this way, please keep Google maps open and enter the same information there. I can assure you that Google maps will show you the correct location.

 LATE ENTRIES

We will be accepting entries up until midnight on Friday June 25th for Leintwardine only. We will not accept entries on the day.
