Another few days ahead 

·         Wednesday July 27th - Breakfast meet - Sally's Place, British Camp, Upper Colwall, Malvern. WR13 6DW  from 10:00 a.m. Just meet up for breakfast, no organised ride. Choose your own route there and back            

·         Wednesday July 27th  - a talk by John Young on “The Son of Sam” Triumph - Malvern Motorcycle and Light Car club - Link Way, Off Howsell Road, Malvern Link, Worcestershire, WR14 1UQ, from 7.30pm. No entry fee but charity donations welcomed.

·         Sunday July 31st – Forest of Dean ride - Travellers Rest 10:00 for a 10:30 start. Route map attached (The ride will run in the opposite direction to previous years). Lunch will be at The Lion in Trellech  (Sunday menu attached). Always a popular ride into the SE corner of our section footprint. If you need more details, contact Mike Bertenshaw  07831 774660

·         Thursday August 4th - Club night – West – from 7:00 p.m. . The Greyhound Hotel 3 Garth Road, Builth Wells, LD2 3AR. Nothing formal, just a chance to meet up and chat. All existing and intending members welcome.

·         MOTO PISTON event in NE Spain – 18th – 25th Sep 2022 – . Mick Smith has some space in his vehicle and his cabin leaving from Portsmouth on Thursday 15 September and returning on the morning of Sep 24th to arrive back in Portsmouth on the 25th. The Piston Rally is a wonderful event and this looks like a good chance to get there and back for sensible money. If you’re interested, ring Mick on 01568 720001

Wednesday June 22nd - Breakfast meet - The New Strand - Church Road, Eardisley, HR3 6PW. Anytime from 10:00 a.m. Choose your own route there and back to this lovely Black& White village. Ride what you fancy and feel free to bring a friend. A good little venue with excellent food. Forecast is for sun and temps in the low twenties

Saturday June 25th - The Groe car park Builth Wells LD2 3BG - The Castles run. Meet at 10:00 for a 10:30 start - Open to all VMCC members and guests

A companion event for Herefordshire on the Edge 2022, this full day ride, with coffee, lunch and afternoon teas stops takes in as many castles as organiser Rob Woodford could fit in. A route map is attached along with some excellent notes on the history of the castles on the route. If you don’t fancy a full day, you are welcome to join or leave at any of the stops. 

Sunday June 26th HEREFORDSHIRE ON THE EDGE 2022 – starting between 08:30 and 10:30 from either the Traveller’s Rest, Ross-on-Wye HR9 7QJ, or The Lion Hotel, Leintwardine SY7 0JZ.The Section’s “signature” event and one which has done much to establish our reputation.  We expect to see close to 100 starters, many of whom will have travelled long distances just to ride our wonderful roads. There are still a few places left. If you want to enter, you will find Regulations and Entry form and details of all the waypoints you can choose to visit here on our


You can enter by sending us your form as a scan or a photo and you can pay by either Paypal or Bank transfer. You can even enter on the day. At the moment, the weather forecast is good, so let’s keep our fingers crossed!

Just to remind you what is happening in the next week. Thursday - April 7th – Mid-week ride. Meet at the OK Diner Leominster HR6 0DQ - at 09:30 for 10:00 start. -

A great mix of open roads and scenic lanes, takes us through South Shropshire and over the Long Mynd, stopping for coffee at The Castle Hotel in Bishops Castle, SY9 5BN around 11:15. You are welcome to join the ride here if it is more convenient. Finishes at Ludlow Food centre HR6 0DQ for late lunch. Our longest running section ride and very popular, particularly if the weather is good. Route maps attached (ignore the groups of 6 on instruction 1

Sunday - April 10th - The Dams Run - Meet at The Cattle Shed Cafe, Penrhos Court, Lyonshall, HR5 3LH, at 10:00 for a 10:30 start. An excellent ride, taking in the Elan Valley and the Eppynt as well as some of the best parts of Mid-Wales and the Borders. The morning ride of 70 miles takes us to lunch at the Elan Valley visitors centre LD6 5HP. The 35 mile afternoon session takes us through the lanes and over the Begwyns to the Granary Café at Hay-on-Wye, HR3 5DB. This run always attracts older bikes and run leader, Rob Woodford will be mounted on one his early Triumphs. A great chance to drag your girder fork or rigid bike out of the shed? Route map attached

All existing and intending members welcome. No formalities, just a good chance to get together and chat. As dusk isn’t until 8:30 p.m. you might like to ride there. Members start gathering around 7:00.
